Sacramento Youth Symphony’s Symphony of 1000

How would you like to play in an orchestra of 1000 musicians? The SYS is planning a huge concert/celebration of music for October 12, 2014 and seeks string, brass, woodwind and percussionists of all ages and levels to participate. The event will consist of one rehearsal/run-through and the concert, so is not a huge time commitment. All music is available for perusal and download for practice at home. Watermelon Music was able to speak recently with SYS’s Artistic Director, Michael Neumann, about the Symphony of 1000 and we’re committed to help make it a reality.

Each player can choose the level of difficulty of the music (Easy, Intermediate or Advanced) based on his or her level and instrument. For more information about the event, including printable instrument parts, or to sign up to play, please visit www.symphonyof1000.org.

This one of a kind musical and cultural event will bring musicians of all sorts together for an inspiring and enriching musical experience that will be remembered in the area for years to come. Come participate in the largest assembled orchestra in the history of Sacramento.
